We recently looked at the number of Chicago condo sales for the month of January, finding some common denominators among the types of luxury buildings that buyers are purchasing units in. When it comes to single-family luxury homes, we also find that the homes sold during January 2012 share some key characteristics as well.
Single-family luxury home sales totaled more than $24 million in January, with prices ranging from $1.1 million all the way up to $4.725 million. The top home sales were found on what I consider to be some of the most prestigious streets in Chicago, and located in the city’s most desirable neighborhoods like Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast.

1521 N State Pkwy
Original list price: $4.9 million
Sold price: $4.725 million
